Here's All You Need to Know About Activision's Weird Call of Duty 2020 announcement

What's strange is that Activision didn't reveal who will develop the new game!

Activision officially confirmed on its Q4 investor call that a new Call of Duty game is coming out this year. This is not surprising as a new Call of Duty game has been released every year since 2005. The series also makes billions of dollars for the publisher and with good reason. Call of Duty Series is one of the best FPS game series ever created if not the best.

What's strange in the announcement is the fact that Activision didn't mention the developers for the game. Call of Duty games had been developed in rotation, and Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games, and Infinity Ward have been taking turns each year. This year was supposed to be Sledgehammer Games' turn but a Kotaku report revealed that development switched to Treyarch as Sledgehammer was having some issues.

Call of Duty 2020 is rumored to be Black Ops 5. The development difficulties might be the reason behind Activision not giving out the name of the developer. The game might be a stinker. Maybe there are multiple development teams working on the project and so Activision didn't reveal any name as the "main developer". Suggesting that the game is a team effort. Let's just wait it out?
