The Starship Troopers: Extermination development team has released a road map that spans the remainder of 2024 and the first half of 2025, outlining their ambitious intentions for the game. Over the course of the next nine months, Starship Troopers: Extermination will receive enhancements in terms of performance and optimization as well as the addition of a new opponent type and location.

First released as an Early Access title in May 2023, the cooperative sci-fi first-person shooter—which, according to its fan base, is a lot like Helldivers 2—received highly positive reviews on Steam, with an 84 percent player satisfaction score. On 10th October, the game was officially released. It was also the first to be played on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The community is currently divided on whether it's still worthwhile to play, according to recent assessments. The majority of grievances directed at the game's version 1.0 seem to be focused on its unreliability and lack of polish.

The publisher/developer Offworld just issued a road map that highlights these two topics. Performance improvements and bug repairs will be the two main priorities for the remainder of this year, according to project head Peter Maurice, who also notes that the development team will keep improving quality of life and performance in the upcoming year. Players can also anticipate the addition of a loadout locker to the Starship Troopers game, which is a faithful recreation of the movie series, before the year ends.

Players could anticipate more feature additions as 2025 progresses, even if the majority of the plans for the remaining months of 2024 appear to be concentrated on improving the game's functionality across all platforms. A variety of new features and benefits will be added to Starship Troopers: Extermination in the first quarter of the year, along with five extra levels to the game's class progression system. Players will be able to find bug holes and alter weapons with the Morita Under Barrel Attachment, even though no new opponent types or weaponry have been revealed during the first three months of 2025.

There are less details available for the second quarter of 2025, but some of the most intriguing characteristics of the road map will be included. These enhancements include a fresh gaming map and an additional spider opponent to battle as Starship Troopers. In addition to these updates, players may anticipate the release of the second installment of the in-depth tutorial for the game at some point in April or June.
