LEGO Horizon Adventures' download sizes for PC and Switch have been revealed by Sony, who states that the game will be 30 GB and 5.9 GB in size, respectively. On 14th November, 2024, LEGO Horizon Adventures—which is based on the Horizon series created by Guerrilla Games—will launch on the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Ultimately, the fact that LEGO Horizon Adventures exists speaks more about LEGO's inevitable collaboration with nearly every popular culture franchise than it does about the popularity of the Horizon series. In many ways, the contemporary LEGO gaming boom began with TT Games, even though there had been LEGO games before them. TT Games developed LEGO Star Wars and many more future LEGO spin-offs. Furthermore, LEGO is now increasingly interested in video game crossovers, spanning from Horizon to medium-defining brands like Nintendo and Super Mario Bros. With other LEGO Horizon Adventures titles making their PlayStation system debuts first, LEGO Horizon Adventures also seems to be the series' first day-one multi-platform launch.

Via its PlayStation Publishing division, Sony has now disclosed the extent of LEGO Horizon Adventures' platform presence. The game will require 30 GB of PC space and 5.9 GB of Nintendo Switch storage, according to information found on the game's Steam store website and Nintendo Switch eShop page.

File Sizes For LEGO Horizon Adventures On PC And Switch Exposure

While the LEGO Horizon Adventures download size is displayed on the Switch and Steam pages, it is not displayed on the PlayStation 5, which is Horizon's "home" platform. This is because file sizes are not usually listed on PSN Store sites. However, considering how similar the two platforms are, it's probably reasonable to assume that gamers hoping to transform Horizon series heroine Aloy and her comrades into minifigs on the PS5 will also need to free up about 30 gigabytes of space.

Interestingly, the Switch version of LEGO Horizon Adventures has a far smaller file size—less than one-third that of the PC edition. The Switch's hardware is comparatively weaker than that of the PS5 and even entry-level gaming PCs, thus developers' efforts to fit games onto the portable device are likely reflected in the reduced file sizes. Having said that, Studio Gobo and Guerilla Games appear to have done an especially good job at compressing the Switch version. In contrast, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, another popular LEGO game, weighs in at roughly 40 GB on PC, 36 GB on PS5, and 15.8 GB on Switch.

Seeing how LEGO Horizon Adventures performs on Switch will be interesting to see. Because Horizon hasn't been available outside of PlayStation platforms, Switch-only players may not be familiar with the series, even though Horizon is now a multi-platform franchise thanks to the PlayStation-published versions on PC. However, a strong launch could support Sony's newfound views on Horizon and other exclusive properties and titles.
