It looks like Crypto, a Recon character from the popular battle royale game Apex Legends, may soon have his equipment nerfed. With the release of Season 22 of Apex Legends, Crypto was bestowed with an invisibility benefit; however, there have been rumours that this alteration was excessive, and it may soon be undone.

Apex Legends' Season 22 introduction was contentious primarily because of the contentious adjustments to the Battle Pass that were in the works. The game had a rough debut for Season 22 because of problems with Ranked mode, but excitement for the upcoming season quickly increased as this decision was reversed. Season 22's content included a new weapon, a new map, and several adjustments to the game's balance. A balance adjustment was made for the frequently underutilized cryptocurrency. Crypto is a strong recon unit with a potent ultimate ability, low danger of collecting Respawn Banners, and the ability to monitor from a distance.

As reported by Dexerto, Crypto is set to be hit with nerfs to his invisibility, according to Apex Legends eSports player Hakis. Hakis claims Respawn itself told him that it is planning to nerf Crypto's invisibility "soon." The changes he received in Season 22 made him one of the most-picked characters in Apex Legends, contrasting his underperformance over the last few years. The ability to go invisible when using the drone allows the Crypto player to worry less when scouting, but it has also resulted in an increase in "ratting" (a term used for players who spend most of the match hiding away) and sees Crypto being used in more aggressive ways by abusing the invisibility in times such as the final ring fight.

Players Of Apex Legends Disappointed About Certain Legend Changes

Season 22 has seen a number of problems with different Legends, but the problems with Crypto have resulted from a more intentional adjustment. Apex Legends' 22nd season has had issues with Newcastle that rendered one of his upgrades inoperable, as well as issues with Rampart and Vantage that rendered their ultimates mute and invisible. In the meantime, deception-based heroes like Mirage have been indirectly nerfed with the game's introduction of health bars. Some Apex Legends gamers are not happy with the Crypto update, but it will take time to see if these changes are undone.

Respawn has not officially stated whether or not this nerf will occur, but considering how much Crypto's pick rate has climbed and how many players are raising worries about his new power, it's not completely implausible. While the buff has made Crypto more playable, it may have gone too far as he has always been one of Apex Legends' most difficult characters to master.
