After four years of intense competition and dedication to the professional VALORANT scene, Javier “Egoist” Chua bids farewell to his gaming career, opting to pursue higher education instead.

Bleed Esports, the team Egoist represented, announced a significant roster change following the conclusion of the 2024 VCT Pacific Kickoff, leading to his decision to retire. Alongside Egoist, teammate Ngô “crazyguy” Anh also transitioned to an inactive role, making room for two fresh faces to join the starting lineup.

Expressing his sentiments on social media, Egoist revealed, “As I personally feel esports is not worth pursuing anymore, I have decided to retire as a player to focus on my university studies. Thank you to everyone I have met on this 10-year journey.”

Egoist’s journey in VALORANT commenced in 2020 with Paper Rex, followed by stints with Team SMG, X10 Esports, and ultimately Bleed Esports. Despite his tenure, he didn't participate in international events and fell short of clinching any major regional titles during his time with Bleed.

The decision to shake up the roster came in the aftermath of Bleed's disappointing performance at the 2024 VCT Pacific Kickoff, where they failed to progress beyond the group stage, succumbing to defeats against T1 and Global Esports. Despite the anticipation surrounding their acquisition of former North American star yay and their collaboration with the renowned NA organization, Disguised, Bleed couldn't meet expectations.

Looking ahead, Bleed aims for a resurgence with the inclusion of former DRX initiator Zest and Retla. With yay positioned as their cornerstone, the team is determined to carve out a more successful path in the upcoming split, striving to leave their mark on the competitive VALORANT landscape.
