Astralis’s Counterr-Strike 2 (CS2) roster has found itself at a pivotal juncture following a string of disappointments culminating in their failure to secure a spot at the Major for the third consecutive time. The organization has restructured the leadership roles, notably with Benjamin “blameF” Bremer's reassignment to the bench, signaling a potential departure. Accompanying this move is the departure of interim head coach Mathias “R0nic” Pinholt, replaced by Casper “ruggah” Due, previously associated with OG, OpTic, and North.

According to Kasper Straube, Astralis' director of sports, blameF's sidelining stems from a perceived incongruity in skill sets and responsibilities, hinting at an imminent announcement regarding a new In-Game Leader.

The decision follows a lackluster performance at the PGL Copenhagen European RMR B, where Astralis managed only a 2-3 record, succumbing to a decisive 2-0 defeat against 9Pandas in the qualifying rounds. Their campaign was marred by defeats against domestic rival Heroic and ENCE, led by former Astralis IGL gla1ve.

Once heralded as the unrivaled champions, Astralis's supremacy began to wane in 2021, marked by a series of roster alterations and dwindling success on the Major stage. Despite their prior dominance, recent endeavors at PGL Stockholm and PGL Antwerp concluded prematurely in the playoffs, with subsequent failures to even qualify for the past three Majors.

Beyond their on-field struggles, Astralis has weathered storms of public scrutiny due to contentious signings, including the controversial recruitment of formerly banned coach HUNDEN, alongside former Heroic players stavn and jabbi.
