Fnatic is currently one of the best Valorant teams in the Valorant franchising. Following a stellar 2023 performance, where they clinched victory in two out of three VCT international tournaments, the anticipation for their 2024 campaign is at an all-time high. In a strategic move, mere days after extension of IGL Jake “Boaster” Howlett’s contract, Fnatic has extended contract with its pro player Emir “Alfajer” Beder.

On 22nd February, the heavyweight VALORANT outfit declared the extension of Emir “Alfajer” Beder’s contract until 2026. Alfajer, revered for his adeptness as a sentinel, embodies the essence of reliability, consistently shouldering significant weight in matches, often surpassing expectations by a substantial margin.

Reflecting on this decision, team director Colin “CoJo” Johnson expressed, “One of my two top priorities this off-season was going to be extending him long-term. I believe this long-term extension proves that there is that mutual trust and we look forward to achieving a lot of amazing things together over the coming three seasons.”

Alfajer's journey with Fnatic commenced on May 8, 2022, amidst a pivotal roster overhaul ahead of VALORANT Challengers Two. Identified for his versatility and potential at the age of 16, he was scouted from Surreal Esports by assistant coach mini and Cojo. The investment in Alfajer bore fruit swiftly, with his inaugural campaign witnessing him leading the region in average combat score during the Stage Two Challengers group stage.

Subsequently, Fnatic capitalized on Alfajer's prowess, securing domestic accolades and solidifying their stature in the EMEA region. His instrumental role extended beyond victories, as he consistently ranked among the top sentinels throughout the 2023 VCT season, demonstrating unparalleled skill and resilience.

Despite concluding the VALORANT season with a fourth-place finish at Champions 2023, Fnatic showcased unwavering confidence in their roster. Their commitment was further underscored by retaining the entire lineup during the offseason, which is rarely done in the competitive landscape.
