Pacific Championship Series (PCS) gears up for its much-anticipated fifth season, commencing on 19th January, 2024. With eight top teams ready to battle it out across Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau, this cross-regional esports spectacle promises to be a thrilling 12-week showdown, culminating in the PCS Playoffs.

The PCS 2024 Spring Split will be a spectacle of skill, strategy, and sheer prowess, with all the action broadcasted live on official PCS channels every Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 5 PM GMT+8.

Additionally, the PCS ecosystem is set to expand with the inclusion of the League of Legends Japan League (LJL) from the upcoming season. The LJL, continuing its domestic season in Japan, will witness the top three teams advancing to the PCS Playoffs, joining forces with PCS teams and the top two from the League of Legends Circuit Oceania (LCO). The stakes are high, as all teams vie for a coveted spot in global tournaments, including MSI and Worlds.

The participating teams for the PCS 2024 Spring Split are as follows:

  • Hell Pigs (HPS)
  • CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO)
  • PSG Talon (PSG)
  • Beyond Gaming (BYG)
  • West Point Esports (WP)
  • Frank Esports (FAK)
  • Deep Cross Gaming (DCG)

Notably absent are PSG Academy and Nate9527, who won't be competing this season, paving the way for an intense competition among the eight-team league.

Format

This season brings exciting format changes to the regular season, ensuring heightened intensity. All matches will be best-of-3 (BO3) series, with the Regular Season divided into two halves. The first phase follows a Single Round Robin format, while the second phase sees teams grouped based on their performance in the initial phase, engaging in another Single Round Robin to determine their seedings in the PCS Playoffs.

Adding a spicy twist, a new 1v1 Showdown is introduced this split, allowing teams to battle for the right to pick their side for Game 1 of their upcoming match. The adrenaline-packed schedule for week one promises an explosive start, with matches like CFO vs BYG and FAK vs JT keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

For the first time, all matches will be broadcasted in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, with Japanese-language broadcasts available during the Playoffs.
