The Final Battle Of 8 Teams in ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023

ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, organized by ESL Gaming, part of ESL One and ESL Pro Tour, is an ongoing Dota 2 tournament taking place in Singapore. It is an offline event taking place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur, and is sponsored by Intel, Predator, DHL, Monster Energy, 1xBet, and SAP. The tournament commenced on 11th December with 12 teams competing in the group stage and now, the Playoffs are ongoing. The top 8 teams are left in the competition. 

Current scenario of the tournament 

The tournament has reached its playoff stage after completing the Group Stage actions yesterday on 13th December. Yesterday, a total of 6 matches were played from the group stage fixtures, both from Group A and Group B. The match results are as follows - 

Group A results- 

  • Azure Ray vs Gaimin Gladiators - Azure Ray won by 2-0.
  • BetBoom Team vs Blacklist International - The result was a draw.
  • Team Secret vs Wawitas Sagezes - Team Secret won by 2-0.

Group B results - 

  • Team Falcons vs Tundra Esports - Team Falcons won by 2-0. 
  • LGD vs Team Liquid - the result was a draw. 
  • 9Pandas vs G2.iG - G2.iG won by 0-2. 

After these games, 8 teams headed for the Playoffs with Azure Ray, Team Falcons, G2.iG, and Gaimin Gladiators made it to the Upper Brackets of the Playoffs while Team Secret, Team Liquid, Tundra Esports and BetBoom Team were placed in the Lower Brackets. 

Upper Brackets Semifinals results 

  • The first semifinal was between Azure Ray vs Team Falcons and it was won by Azure Ray by 2-1. 
  • The second semifinal was between G2.iG and Gaimin Gladiators, it was Gaimin Gladiators who clinched the victory by 1-2 scores. 

Now these two winning teams will face each other in the Upper Bracket Grand Final. Tomorrow, 15th of December the Lower Bracket Round 1 will commence.
