G2 Esports and Invictus Gaming’s Entry Into Chinese Dota 2 Scene

The whispers of G2's entry into Dota 2 gained momentum on 11th November, as Invictus Gaming unveiled its star-studded roster for the upcoming season. The subtle revelation, tucked within the team graphic, hinted at an impending collaboration—with G2's logo, marked by a gleaming red eye, casting a shadow of anticipation. The speculation is now reality as G2 officially announces its partnership with Invictus Gaming, birthing the powerhouse entity known as G2.iG.

For Invictus Gaming, this alliance transcends regional boundaries, offering invaluable support from a renowned team outside China. G2, on the other hand, positions this move as a pivotal step in its "global expansion" strategy. The collaboration not only provides access to regional talent but also aligns with G2's ambitions in Dota 2, a realm it has long aspired to conquer.

G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte expressed the significance of this venture, stating, "Both China and Dota have been at the forefront of our minds for a long time but until now, we haven’t found the right fit that would work in the long term." The partnership with Invictus Gaming, a team adorned with a Worlds trophy and an Aegis, symbolizes the ideal synergy for G2's strategic growth.

In a season marked by strategic roster moves, Invictus Gaming retained JT- and welcomed fresh talents, including NothingToSay from PSG.LGD and Monet from Team Aster. BoBoKa, returning to the fold after a five-year hiatus, reunites with iG alongside xNova from BOOM Esports. The coaching prowess of super and @dogf1ghts, coupled with the managerial expertise of KBBQ, completes the powerhouse ensemble.
