Riot Games is gearing up to unleash the power of Project L on the global stage. In a surprising move, Riot has confirmed the presence of a playable demo at Evo Japan 2024, set to electrify Tokyo from 27th to 29th April.
Kyohei “MarlinPie” Lehr, a luminary in the FGC landscape and a key figure in Project L's development, recently addressed the Japanese FGC during the Riot Games ONE event in Yokohama. Sharing insights into the game's foundational concepts, MarlinPie expressed eagerness to engage with both seasoned fighting game aficionados and newcomers. The overarching mission? To transform Project L into a game that transcends boundaries and captivates diverse gaming communities.
The strategic unveiling of a playable demo at Evo Japan 2024 signifies Riot's commitment to inclusivity. MarlinPie emphasized, "We want Japanese fighting game fans, as well as Riot Games enthusiasts unfamiliar with the fighting game realm, to discover the thrill for themselves. Our goal is to collaboratively shape the game, crafting an experience that resonates with communities worldwide."
The last public encounter with Project L transpired at Evo 2023, where the gaming community had a hands-on experience, engaging in direct conversations with developers to voice their preferences and critiques. Riot's dedication extends beyond public showcases; behind closed doors, collaboration with FGC professionals and players from diverse gaming spheres ensures a holistic approach to game refinement.

Although this recent update did not unveil additional details, anticipation looms large. The period leading up to April promises not only updates but potentially a new Champion joining the roster, building suspense for the Evo Japan demo.
