Evil Geniuses have scripted a Cinderella story in North America's VCT Game Changers, securing their place in the upcoming VALORANT Game Changers World Championship in São Paulo, Brazil. This remarkable journey was filled with twists and turns, and it all came together with a 3-1 victory over Version1 in Series Three. But the road to victory was anything but ordinary for EG GC.

Evil Geniuses' Journey in NA VALORANT Game Changers

At the heart of this incredible feat are two players, Lorrian “Lorri” Elad and Melisa “Theia” Mundorff, who stood tall against adversity and uncertainty. Lorri, a core member of the team for the past two years, faced the shock of being dropped from the SR squad in early September. As the qualifiers for the VCT Game Changers approached, she found herself in limbo, uncertain if she would even have a team to compete with. In a dramatic turn of events, Lorri received a lifeline just a week before the qualifiers. This last-minute inclusion forced her to miss crucial practice sessions, but her experience and knowledge proved invaluable.

Lorri's journey came full circle as she faced off against her former SR teammates, including Melanie “meL” Capone and Alexis Guarrasi of Version1. Her deep understanding of their playstyle and tactics played a pivotal role in EG's miraculous lower bracket run. For Lorri, this victory not only vindicates her abilities but also catapults her to her second career Game Changers World Championship, leaving her former team on the sidelines for the post-season.

On the other side of the equation, Theia, relatively new to the role of captaincy, showcased her prowess on the server. Her background in FPS titles, dating back to her days in CS:GO as an aspiring professional at just 15 years old, set the stage for her leadership. After signing with Dignitas Female, she transitioned to VALORANT with the organization. This tournament marked her debut as the captain of her own team, and her leadership qualities shone through. The historic run has undoubtedly proven that she's more than capable of handling the responsibilities that come with leading a team to victory.

As they bask in the glory of their unexpected triumph, Lorri, Theia, and the entire EG squad are now gearing up for the ultimate test on the global stage. The 2023 VALORANT Game Changers World Championship is set to kick off on November 28, where they will represent North America as the second seed. Version1's consistent performances throughout the 2023 circuit have earned them the top spot, but Evil Geniuses have shown that they are a force to be reckoned with.
