Heroic, one of the leading names in Danish Counter-Strike, has made a bold move just weeks into the dawn of the CS2 era. Casper "cadiaN" Møller, the captain who has been at the helm of Heroic since the close of 2019, has been benched. This decision, though unexpected, comes as a result of divergent visions for the team's future.

CadiaN, known for his formidable prowess both as an in-game leader and primary AWPer, has played a pivotal role in Heroic's remarkable journey over the last three years. During this time, the team effectively wrestled the Danish CS throne from Astralis, establishing themselves as an elite Danish force in the Counter-Strike scene.

In an exclusive interview with Dexerto, CadiaN revealed that he had envisioned changes for Heroic as they entered the CS2 era. However, the challenge lay in differing opinions within the team. CadiaN believed that these alterations would reinvigorate Heroic, similar to how past roster changes with the likes of refrezh and sjuush had eventually proven fruitful after initial skepticism. Nonetheless, a middle ground could not be found, leading to his unexpected departure from the active roster.

Despite this setback, CadiaN remains undeterred and fueled by ambition. He stated that he continues to hone his skills in CS2 and is keeping his options open. This includes the possibility of an international venture or a shift away from his roles as an in-game leader and AWPer, which have defined his successful career thus far.

The timing of this roster change indicates that CadiaN is unlikely to grace the stage at the upcoming IEM Sydney event, a momentous occasion for the burgeoning CS2 competitive scene. However, his sights are firmly set on the PGL Copenhagen Major, the prestigious trophy that has eluded him throughout his illustrious CS:GO career.
