Topson had previously stepped away from competitive Dota 2, citing a desire for a new life and family. However, his return has been eagerly awaited by fans who have fondly remembered his exceptional skills and achievements on the TI stage.
Jingjun "Sneyking" Wu, the captain of Tundra Esports, acknowledged the need for a worthy replacement for Saksa, who had played a pivotal role in the team's TI victory. He expressed the difficulty of finding players of Topson's caliber, hinting at the immense talent that the two-time TI champion brings to the table.

While Topson took a step back from competitive play after TI21, he did make a last-minute attempt to qualify for TI22 with T1. Additionally, he occasionally played with Old G, a team with a more casual approach to the game. His previous appearance for Tundra Esports was earlier this year during the BetBoom Universe: Episode I - Comics Zone event.
