Battlegrounds Mobile India Masters Series (BGMS) Season 2 has encountered a contentious issue that raises questions about the integrity of competitive gaming. Concerns have emerged surrounding the presence of minimal stream delay during the tournament's initial phases. This situation inadvertently opens the door for spectators to access real-time information, creating a scenario where such data could potentially be relayed to players. This revelation has sparked discussions on the transparency and fairness of the ongoing tournament.

BGMS Season 2 Addresses Stream Delay Issue

As the BGMS Season 2 progresses through League Week 1, the esports community has witnessed battles among top-tier teams aiming for supremacy. However, beneath the excitement lies a cloud of uncertainty. Team SouL's manager, Siddhant "Sid" Joshi, brought attention to the matter through a vlog by Amit Dubey, the coach of Team SouL He disclosed that both the Launch Week and the first two days of League Week 1 experienced negligible stream delay, inadvertently allowing spectators to witness gameplay in almost real-time.

The heart of the issue revolves around the inadvertent advantage that minimal stream delay might offer to players. This scenario could enable spectators to communicate opponents' locations to participating players during matches, potentially compromising the competitive integrity of the tournament. While it remains uncertain whether any team or player engaged in such practices, the mere possibility has raised concerns about maintaining a level playing field.

Sid Takes Action to Explain the Gravity of the Situation

To underscore the gravity of the situation, Sid conducted an experiment that shed light on the vulnerability of the tournament's streaming setup. He asked a member of Team SouL, Sohail "Hector" Shaikh, to send messages to select players during a dry run on the third day of League Week 1. Alarmingly, none of these messages were detected by the tournament administrators, further emphasizing the potential risks involved.

Following the experiment's results, the tournament's management acknowledged the seriousness of the issue and swiftly took measures to rectify the situation. Stream delay was implemented to counteract any potential unfair practices and bolster the tournament's transparency.
