In an electrifying announcement, Krafton, the developer behind Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), revealed its highly anticipated tournament, Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2023 (BGIS). A thrilling amalgamation of top-tier and grassroots level competition, BGIS 2023 promises an exhilarating gaming experience for players and fans alike.
The BGIS 2023 event boasts an impressive prize pool of INR 2,00,00,000 ($243,962 USD), making it one of the most lucrative tournaments in the mobile esports domain. As the countdown begins, registrations for the tournament will open on 24th July, setting the stage for intense battles among the best mobile gamers in India.
Before the main event, Krafton has arranged for an enthralling precursor - BGIS 2023 The Grind. This preliminary competition serves as the gateway for the top 64 teams to advance to the grand stage of BGIS 2023. Already in motion since 20th July, The Grind will span across five intense weeks, presenting participants with grueling challenges to prove their mettle.
All Qualified Teams So Far for BGIS 2023 The Grind Round 2
The excitement has reached fever pitch, with 128 teams earning their spot in BGIS 2023 The Grind Round 2 after the fierce competition in Round 1. The first week of The Grind, held from 20th to 23rd July, and the second week, from 27th to 30th July, witnessed a total of 256 teams fiercely competing to secure their position in the Round 2 lineup.

BGIS 2023 The Grind Format
The competition format of The Grind is designed to test teams' resilience and adaptability. Divided into eight groups, each comprising 16 teams, participants battled it out through three matches. The top eight teams from each group emerged victorious, while the bottom eight were eliminated.
As The Grind intensifies, spectators eagerly await updates on the qualifying teams. By the end of Week 2, a total of 64 teams will advance to BGIS 2023 The Grind Round 2, marking a significant step towards claiming a spot in the illustrious main tournament.
Looking ahead, BGIS 2023 The Grind will continue to unfold with Week 3 scheduled from 3rd to 6th August, followed by Week 4 from 10th to 13th August. Each week will feature 64 teams divided into four groups, engaging in six challenging matches. The top eight teams from each group will secure their passage to the next round, while the rest will bow out of the competition.
The climactic final week, Week 5, will take place from 17th to 20th August. Sixty-four teams will once again be divided into four groups, competing in a round-robin format with 12 matches per group. The overall leaderboard will determine the top 32 teams advancing to BGIS 2023 Round 3, while the remaining 32 teams will gain entry to BGIS 2023 Round 2.
