Team BDS’ Journey in Gamers8 Rainbow Six Siege 2023

From the onset, Team BDS displayed unwavering prowess throughout the tournament, dropping only a single map in their path to the finals. Their journey comprised several notable victories, including a commanding performance against Oxygen Esports in the Upper Bracket Semifinals and a hard-fought battle against w7m esports in the Upper Bracket Final. However, it was in the grand finals that Team BDS truly asserted their dominance, completely dismantling M80.

Gamers8 Rainbow Six Siege 2023 Highlights

The grand finals were a one-sided affair as Team BDS left no room for doubt about their superiority. The series unfolded on three distinct maps: Oregon, Border, and Clubhouse. Team BDS secured a clean sweep, triumphing with round scores that left their opponents trailing in their wake. On Oregon, they secured seven round wins, with five on the attack and two on defense, while M80 managed a mere two rounds. A similar pattern ensued on Border, with Team BDS claiming seven rounds (three on attack and four on defense), while M80 fought valiantly for five rounds. The decisive Clubhouse map saw Team BDS seize seven rounds (four on attack and three on defense), as M80 managed to secure only four.

Individual achievements also punctuated Team BDS' success at the tournament. Stéphane "Shaiiko" Lebleu, the team's talented entry fragger, not only led his squad to victory but also earned recognition for the most eliminations, solidifying his position as the tournament's standout player. Shaiiko's outstanding performance earned him a $10,000 USD prize and the coveted title of the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP).

It is worth noting that while G2 Esports was highly regarded as one of the favorites, Team BDS' dominance was undeniable. Winning in Riyadh for two consecutive years is a remarkable feat that underscores the team's exceptional skill and comfort in the setting.

In recognition of their outstanding performance, Team BDS received a staggering $750,000 USD prize, while the runners-up, M80, claimed $400,000 USD. Team Falcons and w7m esports were also rewarded handsomely for their commendable performances, each taking home $225,000 USD for securing the third and fourth positions, respectively.
