Renowned Chinese Dota 2 organization Xtreme Gaming has announced significant changes to its roster just before the highly anticipated Riyadh Masters 2023 tournament. The team bid farewell to Hu "Kaka" Liangzhi, who recently joined Team Aster, while welcoming Zhao "XinQ" Zixing, formerly of PSG.LGD, to fill the position four role. This shake-up has generated a buzz of speculation among the Dota 2 community.

XinQ Joins Xtreme Gaming, Paparazi Might Retire After Riyadh Masters 2023

XinQ's addition to Xtreme Gaming comes after the player expressed interest in joining the team, although a formal contract has not yet been signed. Despite his recent retirement, XinQ's previous achievements and his reputation as a reliable and impactful position four player have instilled confidence within the Xtreme Gaming camp. During his tenure with PSG.LGD from 2020 to 2022, XinQ emerged as a prominent figure, securing victories at prestigious events such as the WePlay AniMajor 2022 and the Riyadh Masters 2022. He also achieved remarkable second-place finishes at the PGL Arlington Major 2021 and The International 2021.

Another notable development revolves around Zhang "Paparazi" Chengjun, who initially expressed his desire to take an extended break from competitive play, effectively hinting at retirement. However, Xtreme Gaming persuaded Paparazi to stay on the roster for the Riyadh Masters 2023, despite the uncertainty surrounding his future with the team beyond the tournament.

The confirmed roster for Xtreme Gaming at the upcoming Riyadh Masters includes:

  • Daniel "Ghost" Chan
  • Zhang "Paparazi" Chengjun
  • Thiay "JT-" Jun Wen
  • Zhao "XinQ" Zixing
  • Ding "Dy" Cong

With this revamped lineup, Xtreme Gaming aims to rebound from a lackluster performance during the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Tour 3 season. The team anticipates leveraging the Riyadh Masters to not only secure a significant prize pool but also gain invaluable match practice for the forthcoming regional qualifier of The International 12 (TI12).

The roster changes in Xtreme Gaming have undoubtedly piqued the interest of Dota 2 enthusiasts worldwide, with the community eagerly anticipating their performance at the Riyadh Masters 2023. This strategic shuffle presents an opportunity for the organization to revitalize its competitive standing and showcase the team's prowess on a grand stage. As Xtreme Gaming recalibrates its roster, fans will be closely observing the dynamics between the new and existing players, eagerly awaiting their synergy and strategic approaches to the game.
