Gaimin Gladiators have etched their name in Dota 2 history by achieving an unprecedented feat in the modern Dota Pro Circuit. With an impressive clean sweep of the season, they have become the first team to secure three consecutive Major victories. The Gladiators' exceptional performance culminated in a thrilling grand finals showdown against Team Liquid, further solidifying their place in the annals of Dota 2 greatness.

Gaimin Gladiators Dominate the Bali Major 2

The journey to this historic achievement began with the Gladiators' strategic rebuild, which revolved around acquiring Quinn from North America. This move proved pivotal as Gaimin quickly established themselves as the team to beat in Western Europe, Dota's strongest region. While they did not clinch any regional titles this year, their prowess at LAN events became unmatched.

The Gladiators' road to glory started with a flawless playoff run in Lima, where they claimed their first Major title by sweeping a depleted Team Liquid lineup with a convincing 3-0 victory. Their dominance continued in Berlin, where they secured their second consecutive Major championship. Though Liquid managed to take a game off Gaimin in the playoffs, it was not enough to halt the Gladiators' march towards victory.

With their qualification for The International already secured, the Gladiators entered the Bali Major with the same competitive fire that propelled them throughout the season. Undeterred by the absence of pressure, they showcased immaculate communication and timing, dominating their rivals in the majority of the series. This resounding triumph in Bali marked their third Major win, firmly cementing their status as a force to be reckoned with in the Dota 2 scene.

Gaimin Gladiators now boast an impressive record, having secured three DPC Major titles and two DreamLeague wins in 2023. Notably, four of their grand final victories have come against the formidable Team Liquid. While their achievement is indeed historic, it is worth mentioning that OG's 2016 lineup had previously won three Valve-sponsored Majors in a row, predating the introduction of the Dota Pro Circuit in 2017. Additionally, Team Secret's 2020 run, consisting of eight consecutive tournament victories and setting a Dota 2 record for the best 100-game performance, is an achievement worth noting.
