Fortnite professional player Benjy "benjyfishy" Fish has reportedly signed a verbal agreement with Team Heretics to compete in the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) EMEA region. This agreement, which required direct approval from Riot Games, may potentially extend benjyfishy's association with Team Heretics beyond the LCQ.

In a remarkable turn of events, benjyfishy, who retired from the pinnacle of Fortnite competition a year ago, now finds himself venturing into the world of Valorant. His decision to transition from Fortnite to Valorant reflects the growing appeal and potential of Riot Games' tactical shooter.

Over the past months, benjyfishy has showcased his skills in the VALORANT Challengers League East: Surge as part of Enterprise Esports. Known for his prowess as Killjoy, benjyfishy has achieved an impressive average combat score of 216.6, a K/D ratio of 1.12, and a noteworthy kill-assist-survive-trade rating of 73 percent across two splits in the VCL East: Surge league, according to data from TheSpike.gg.

Although benjyfishy qualified for the VCT 2023: Ascension EMEA Play-In with Enterprise Esports at the end of split two, he revealed his decision not to continue with the squad. This move signifies his aspiration to pursue greater heights in Valorant and further cements his move to Team Heretics.

The current season of the VCT 2023 circuit has been challenging for Team Heretics, as they exited the initial LOCK//IN São Paulo tournament in the first round and failed to secure a spot in the EMEA playoffs with a league-worst record of 2-7. However, the addition of benjyfishy to the roster brings a fresh wave of talent and the potential for improved performance.

Fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming VCT EMEA Last Chance Qualifier, scheduled to take place from July 15 to July 23. This event will determine the final team to represent the region alongside powerhouse organizations such as Team Liquid, Fnatic, and FUT Esports at the prestigious Valorant Champions 2023.
