Velocity Gaming Defeats MLT Esports in VCL SA Split 2

In a recent Valorant Challengers League (VCL) 2023: South Asia (SA) Split 2 matchup, Velocity Gaming emerged winner against MLT Esports with a 2-0 scoreline. Velocity Gaming showcased its skills and came out with a dominant performance against MLT Esports. The match was intense, with both teams giving their best, but ultimately Velocity Gaming secured the win.

In the map veto process, Velocity Gaming banned Fracture while MLT Esports banned Lotus. Afterwards, Velocity Gaming picked Pearl and MLT Esports picked Split, and they respectively banned Bind and Haven. The final map, Ascent, was selected as the decider map.

Map No. 1 - Pearl

In the first map Pearl, MLT Esports won the pistol round and anti-eco round but lost the bonus round. The first half of the match ended with Velocity Gaming leading 7-5. The second half was dominated by Velocity Gaming, as it won six consecutive rounds without dropping a single one on its defending side, securing a 13-5 victory. Hellff's Astra was named MVP with an ACS of 323.

Map No. 2 - Split

The second map Split saw a highly competitive match as both teams were winning rounds back and forth. Velocity Gaming won the pistol round, with Anuj "Amaterasu" Sharma making a triple kill on his Cypher setup. Velocity Gaming closed the first half with a two points lead, with a scoreline of VLT 7-5 MLT. In the second half, Velocity Gaming won the second pistol round but lost the bonus round. MLT Esports made a comeback, winning three consecutive rounds to bring the score to 9-8. However, Velocity Gaming triumphed by winning four rounds in a row to bring the final score to 13-10

Velocity Gaming’s Sagnik "Hellff" Roy stood out as the most valuable player (MVP) with an impressive ACS score of 323 while playing as Astra.

Although Velocity Gaming lost its previous match against Orangutan Gaming, it made a comeback and came off strong against MLT Esports. It will be interesting to see whether Velocity Gaming maintains its form in future matches.
