A brand-new showcase event where Capcom will release information on forthcoming games has been announced. Not just in Japan, but across the entire gaming industry, Capcom is one of the largest game companies. With stuff like Resident Evil, which has branched out into films and television, Capcom is responsible for some of the largest properties even outside of gaming. They run a sizable business and control some of the most prized intellectual property in existence. Thanks to fantastic remakes, fantastic sequels, and other fantastic new games, they have also been remarkably consistent in recent years and have shed the somewhat shady reputation that they acquired in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

Although the company has a ton of games in development, huge blockbusters like Street Fighter 6 and the Resident Evil 4 remake have captured most of the attention. Given that the sixth iteration of Street Fighter was released seven years after the first, it has received a lot of attention. At the PlayStation State of Play event recently, Capcom provided a deeper look at what to anticipate from Street Fighter 6. Currently, it appears like the developer will be teasing a number of its other 2023 games.

The Capcom Spotlight, a 26-minute global digital livestream event showcasing its 2023 game lineup, will therefore be the organization's following event. The event, which will feature information on Resident Evil 4, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, and Exoprimal, is scheduled for March 9 at 2:30 PM PST. Updates on the forthcoming Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection will also be shared on Capcom Spotlight. It's important to remember, too, that Capcom has said that the time and date are subject to change without notice.

Games Planned for Capcom Spotlight Event

  • Resident Evil 4
  • Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
  • Exoprimal
  • Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection
  • Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

A lot of eyes will be on the Resident Evil 4 remake as Capcom Spotlight launches next week. Throughout the years, the property has developed a considerable fan base, and the 2005 successful adaptation has drawn a lot of interest. In their State of Play 2023 teaser, Capcom gave fans a deeper look at the gameplay, changes, boss fights, and other aspects of the upcoming Resident Evil 4. Although many might not have anticipated further information about the game with only a few weeks till release, the announcement will undoubtedly thrill players.

In any case, Capcom hardly ever lets you down. It's difficult to believe the studio doesn't have anything intriguing given its wealth of talent and extremely valuable intellectual property. It seems to speak well for a healthy showcase because typically a studio won't hold one unless it has a lot to say, and Capcom isn't expected to host one like PlayStation or Nintendo.
