The organization has hired Sapnap, a content creator and co-owner of NRG who is most known for his Minecraft gameplay on Twitch and YouTube. A prominent player in the field of Minecraft content development, Sapnap quickly gained notoriety after joining the DreamSMP Minecraft server as a founding member. Sapnap has amassed more than 3.1 million Twitch followers, 4.67 million YouTube subscribers, and about 3 million Twitter followers since he began his career in video production more than two years ago.

Karl Jacobs and GeorgeNotFound, two more Minecraft players, and Sapnap co-hosted the Banter podcast. He has since made an effort to broaden his business and material endeavors. The well-known founder of multiple platforms is now a co-owner and content creator for the esports organization NRG.

In November 2015, NRG was established by Sacramento Kings co-owners Mark Mastrov and Andy Miller. Alex Rodriguez, Shaquille O'Neal, and other legendary athletes later made investments in the company. Since its inception, NRG has invested in several esports titles, fielding teams in games including VALORANT, Overwatch, Apex Legends, and others. With the recent hire of well-known people like Bucke, Clix, Willius, and others, NRG has expanded the size of its content production section.

The esports organization made a hint about Sapnap's impending statement the day prior, saying it will be "one of the largest creator announcements ever." NRG has welcomed its new co-owner warmly, even going so far as to feature the author on the Twitter banner for the page. This signifies the Minecrafter's official exposure as a significant team player.

Viewers can anticipate seeing Sapnap in NRG video content and seeing NRG members, sponsors, and graphics in his own programming, however, it is unclear exactly what his duties as co-owner will be.
