One of the Ampere GPUs with the quickest sales is the RTX 3060 Ti. With a 2% market share, it is currently the third most popular among the current generation. Only the RTX 3060 and RTX 3070 are ahead of the graphics card unit. The 3060 Ti was introduced by Nvidia in 2020 as a top-tier, 1080p gaming solution. This video card is about 15% slower than the RTX 3070, the king of 1440p gaming. It has excellent rendering capabilities. Therefore, it is clear that gamers are supporting this GPU.

Currently, the RTX 3060 Ti costs about $390. So, gamers wishing to create a system for around $1,000 can simply choose this GPU. However, once they have chosen a reliable CPU and a suitable GPU, they could become overwhelmed by the variety of motherboard possibilities.

The best motherboards for RTX 3060 Ti GPUs: A buying guide

The choice of GPU rarely has an impact on the graphics card's performance. All current games should operate without a hitch on any motherboard with a PCIe x16 slot. However, if consumers choose a 3060 Ti, they need make sure the motherboard has at least one steel-riveted PCIe Gen 4 slot. The majority of contemporary ones additionally have steel-riveted PCIe x16s to guard against damage from large GPUs.

There are three Southbridge chipset options from AMD. These consist of :-

  • Xx70

  • Bx50

  • A320

  • A520

1) Xx70 motherboards

The most advanced AMD motherboards on the market are included in the Xx70 range. These options might be a little bit excessive for a 3060 Ti-based budget performance GPU. However, gamers might choose these flagship items if they have enough money to invest on one of these motherboards.

2) Bx50 motherboards

The Bx50 family offers a good balance of features and cost. The best motherboard to pair with an RTX 3060 Ti-based build is, for the majority of users, the low-cost Bx50 model.

3) A320 and A520 are inadequate for the RTX 3060 Ti.

Entry-level motherboards based on the AM4 architecture include the A320 and A520. These are primarily designed for low-power entertainment PCs and PCs used in offices. Given that they are Gen 3, pairing an RTX 3060 Ti with them is not advised.

RTX 3060 Ti's ideal Intel motherboards

Users can select from four motherboard lines from Intel :-

  • Zx90

  •  Hx70,

  • Bx60

  • Hx10

The classification scheme resembles AMD motherboards quite a bit.

1) Zx90 motherboards

The Zx90 motherboards are Intel's premium product line. These are somewhat excessive for a budget build based on the 3060 Ti, much like the Xx70 offers.

2)  Hx70 Motherboards

The Zx90 motherboards are a slightly scaled-back version of the Hx70 products. The best option for the 3060 Ti is this series because it has a tonne of functionality to make the most of the graphics card. It is less well-known, though, and there aren't many options available on the market.

3) Bx60 motherboards

For a 3060 Ti-based build, Bx60 motherboards are essentially the best investment. These motherboards have several alternatives and are less expensive than the Zx90 family, giving them an advantage over the Hx70 motherboards' limited selection.

4) Hx10 motherboards

Intel's entry-level motherboards are Hx10 models. Recently, gamers on a budget have had a good option with the Hx10 family. The H610 motherboards can readily support up to a Core i5 12600 (non-K) processor and are all PCIe Gen 4 compliant. They also contain a steel-riveted PCIe x16 slot.

As a result, users of the RTX 3060 Ti who do not want to spend a lot of money on their motherboard can choose from the H610 series.
