With the introduction of the 8BitDo Ultimate Controller, 8BitDo is making a push for the professional controller market. Due to its Bluetooth connectivity, 8BitDo's previous controllers like the SN30 Pro and Pro 2 have a wide range of compatibility possibilities, but the Ultimate Controller will be offered in three different configurations. The three new versions of the Ultimate Controller provide pro-style controller functionality at affordable rates and appeal to both modern and classic gamers.

The Ultimate Controller will be offered in three distinct configurations which include Bluetooth, 2.4Ghz, and Wired. The two wireless models of these controllers will also come with charging docks from 8BitDo. Furthermore, 8BitDo's new controller software package, which lets users remap and fine-tune their controls on PC, Android, and iOS devices, maybe the best new feature arriving with the new Ultimate controller. Additionally, a standard 3.5mm jack is present on each of the three models. The controllers are now available for preorder at Amazon as they will be released on October 28th, 2022. Let us now dive into the details of all three versions of Ultimate Controller.

  • 8BitDo Bluetooth Ultimate Controller with Charging Dock ($70)

The Bluetooth version is bundled with a 2.4 GHz wireless adapter and is compatible with the Nintendo Switch, Windows, Android, and iOS devices. Two rear paddle buttons are available to provide additional inputs and can be configured. The controller is currently available for preorder on Amazon in both white and black variants.

  • 8BitDo Ultimate Controller 2.4GHz ($50)

The 2.4Ghz model still has all the other prior connectivity options, but it won't work with the Switch. It can be paired using a 2.4GHz adaptor, custom profiles can be created and updated immediately. The pro-paddle buttons in this variant of the controller are located on the back. The 8BitDo software can be installed on PCs and mobile devices which enables it to change the setup of the controller, making it simple to fine-tune the buttons as well as the analog sticks. It is currently available for pre-order in white, black, and pastel pink.

  • 8BitDo Ultimate Controller Wired ($35)

As the name suggests, the Wired Controller lacks a dock for charging and must be manually connected via USB to your Switch, PC, or smartphone. Other than that, users can expect the same high level of construction that characterizes 8BitDo products, including increased grip, trigger vibration, two rear paddle buttons, and powerful software that enables them to load up many profiles into the controller.
