It's been a few days since AMD & NVIDIA have been preparing themselves to offer new price cuts for their GPUs that would be done by their partners. Now both the companies have decided to offer more brutal price cuts, promotions, and discounts too as the previous price cuts remained unsuccessful.

The current round of price cuts is unable to move inventory the way it was expected by AMD & NVIDIA. So, there's a need for a second round of price cuts that is going to exceed the price drops that have been observed so far on current-gen GPUs.

The new price cuts will take place in September that will be imposed by AIBs on their already existing stock of chips. In fact, AMD & NVIDIA have advised their partners to get rid of excess inventory of GPUs in order to serve the next generation well. NVIDIA has already started working for the clearance of its stock along with CEO, Jensen Huang.

Taking into consideration the economic state and lower demand of the PC segment, it can be guessed that the above-mentioned situation of excess inventory won't improve till 2023. On top of that, the crypto floods are letting used GPUs enter the market and thus the consumers have little reason to purchase new graphics cards this late. The previous price cuts have already been provided on several GPUs from AMD & NVIDIA but those thinking of buying a graphics card and can't wait till next-gen, should wait till the next month at least to check out the upcoming price cuts.

The AMD Radeon & NVIDIA GeForce GPU prices will hopefully drop and there some price cuts are also expected by the end of this month so you should not get surprised if RTX 3090s drop below $1000 US in a few weeks.
