The next most advanced gaming graphics cards on the market is captured by Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3090 Ti and AMD's Radeon RX 6950 XT, each of them operates applications that demand high graphics at maximum resolutions and boost high frame rates. The Radeon RX 6950 XT and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 are two top-performing graphics cards.

These two cards were introduced earlier this year, with the AMD card making its debut in the month of March, 2 months prior Nvidia's flagship. The RTX 3090 and RX 6900 XT are enhanced versions of the previous top-ranking cards. Despite the modest price rise, plenty will buy these cards regardless, if they do not offer a significant improvement over their contemporaries.

The cards differ from one another in a number of ways. The AMD card has a better design since it is constructed on a lower process node with faster clock rates. On the other side, Nvidia makes up for the lower CPU with twice as many shaders, more VRAM, and nearly twice as much memory bandwidth.

The quantity of power that each card requires is yet another significant distinction. The Nvidia card is significantly less efficient and consumes 115W more power than the AMD RX 6950 XT. By purchasing the AMD card, consumers can save money by choosing a PSU with a lower rating, which will also result in cheaper monthly power costs. Surprisingly, Nvidia's innovative architecture keeps cools the GPU under maximum pressure.

Although AMD does have an edge in several parameters, the Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti performs higher in nearly all benchmarks. The finest ray tracing functionality in Nvidia's premium card offers numerous players to choose from their high-end cards. The RX 6950 XT decreases the performance in different games significantly when ray tracing parameters are enabled, but not as much as while using the RTX 3090 Ti.

There is not much of a distinction between the two cards' performance when measured at lesser settings like 1080p and 1440p because their full capabilities aren't being used. However, the efficiency gap between the two cards grows when applications are operated at 4K resolution, with the RTX 3090 Ti delivering average frame rates that are up to 15 to 30% higher than those of its rival in titles like F1 2021, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Watch Dogs: Legion, and many others.

The wholesale price must be the main distinguishing factor between the two cards. This has been one of the main barriers to purchase for customers who desired to buy the Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti but were prevented from doing so due to its $2000 pricing. Officially priced at $1100, the AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT is a staggering $900 less expensive than its rival.

The RTX 3090 Ti should be one's best option if they are trying to get the top product available on the market right now. However, the RX 6950 XT is the best option if you're seeking to save money on a 4K gaming GPU because it can perform the newest games at the greatest quality while just delivering 25% lesser fps.

Furthermore, it might be wise to hold off on purchasing a new graphics card for a few months until the next version is out unless you are in a great rush. AMD's RDNA 3 architecture cards are indeed expected to launch well before the end of this year, along with the RTX 4000 series cards, which are scheduled for sale in the upcoming months. The cards of the upcoming generation will be significantly more expensive-to-performance-ratio and will also provide your PC with an advantageous position in the coming years.
