The Last of Us Part 1 was officially announced by Sony and Naughty Dog at the Summer Game Fest after months of speculation. The narrative of Joel and Ellie may be experienced by gamers once more with a number of improved components when it launches on PS5 in September and later on PC. The Last of Us Part 1 fans still have many unanswered questions, such as whether there have been any significant changes, such as the potential arrival of Abby from TLOU 2, but they should have answers in a few months at the latest. It's interesting that, given how popular it has become, one fan has discovered and identified a reference to the series in The Sims 4.

The Werewolf addition for The Sims 4 was just published, but it's the same as before (just with more content). Fans get to live out their Sim's life by having children, advancing in their careers, and constructing and furnishing a home. Probably while furnishing their home, Twitter user Katarina discovered a plant called Jerry's Reeds.

In the writing that goes along with the plant, it is mentioned that St. Mary's Hospital's medical staff is battling fungal parasitic infestations. As many people are aware, this area is close where The Last of Us ends, and the doctor there is Jerry, who is also Abby's father. The last sentence, "It never amounted to anything, other than its propensity to attract firefly," is what really makes this Easter egg clear.

There is no question that this Easter egg was purposefully inserted because it makes references to Abby's father Jerry, the hospital, and the Fireflies group of The Last of Us. It's unclear when because The Sims 4 has so many features that it's difficult to keep track of when new ones are added, but if fans of both franchises haven't seen it before, it's a lovely little hint.

Notably, The Sims 4 includes two Easter eggs from Final Fantasy 14 in the Werewolf addition, demonstrating how conscious the creator is of other series. One of these is the Racked Teak-a Greatshelves, which alludes to the Raktika Greatwood Shadowbringers Zone. Another is the Seventh Confectioner's Calamity Firewood Rack, which alludes to Vanet and the Seventh Umbral Calamity. It will be intriguing to see what other Easter eggs players unearth over time when The Sims 4 develops further and publisher Maxis finally switches to The Sims 5.
