Just when you thought Call of Duty couldn't get any weirder, season 3 appears to
indicate that Godzilla himself would appear to cause havoc.
Call of Duty published Season 3's Classified Arms teaser, in which the crew discovers a
mystery gadget while looking for the Nazis leaked Nebula gas.
The gadget transmits an audio signal that may be heard at the end of the film. The audio
is a little jumbled, but it sounds eerily like Godzilla's characteristic roar.
PrestigeIsKey, a YouTuber, tweeted a snapshot of the audio being run through a
spectrograph and discovered the words Monsters Are Real on his Twitter account.
Another Twitter user responded with a looping sound of Godzilla's orca-like roar, which
fits the trailer soundtrack. Both of these hints suggest that the famed kaiju will make an
appearance in Warzone.
Beginning with the Modern Warfare reboot in 2019, Activision sought to construct an
overall tale for the Warzone battle royale mode. Since then, each Call of Duty game has
included portions of their worlds into the larger Warzone story. Following the release of
Call of Duty: Vanguard, the old Verdansk play area was demolished and replaced by
Caldera.
The introduction of Godzilla would mark a significant departure from the semi-realistic
the mood of Call of Duty games (excluding Zombies mode). This might be an effort to
replicate Fortnite's successful collaborations with third-party franchises like Marvel, DC,
and Naruto.
