On October 20, 2016, Nintendo revealed the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo's Switch, codenamed NX in
development, was born out of the company's response to multiple quarters of financial losses in 2014,
which were ascribed to weak sales of its previous platform, the Wii U, and market competition from
mobile games. Satoru Iwata, Nintendo's then-president, pushed the business toward mobile gaming and
cutting-edge hardware. The Nintendo Switch's design caters to a wide range of video game gamers
thanks to its many modes of operation. To make development for the platform easier for programmers
and more compatible with existing game engines, Nintendo chose to use more conventional electronic
components, such as a processor based on Nvidia's Tegra line.

Because the Wii U struggled to gain external support, leaving it with a limited software library, Nintendo
sought out the help of many third-party developers and publishers, including many independent videos
game studios, to help build out the Switch's game library alongside Nintendo's first-party titles. Nintendo
had projected roughly 100 titles for its first year, but by the end of 2017, over 320 titles from first-party,
third-party, and independent developers had been released.

Nintendo has published a software update for the Nintendo Switch that takes the console's operating
system up to version 14.1.0, but what exactly does this firmware do? Come on, let's get together. With
this update, the Kyoto house added new alerts about Platinum Points earned through Nintendo Switch
Online assignments, as well as new Splatoon and Animal Crossing rewards icons. The update will then
fix a few small bugs and issues, with the goal of enhancing overall stability when playing games and
using apps.

As we can see, a recent update doesn't bring much new to the table, and after all, Nintendo issued the
initial Switch firmware, complete with folders and other essential features, first and foremost. The volume
of Bluetooth accessories could be changed directly from the console to the volume. Splatoon 3,
Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Mario Strikers Battle League, Fire Emblem
Warriors Three Hopes, Bayonetta 3 by Platinum Games, and Nintendo Switch Sports, to mention a few,
will all be released in the first months of 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.
