On December 14, Innersloth's murder mystery will be released on PS4 and Xbox One. Isn't it better to be late than never? Innersloth's murder spree simulator is finally coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles on December 14, a year after it blew up during the pandemic and three years after it first appeared on Steam.

In a statement on the PlayStation Blog, the company stated that the game "comes with all of the prior content, a plethora of new updates, and a unique Ratchet & Clank cosmetic in the future" for PS4 and PS5. Among Us will be available through Game Pass for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. All versions of the game will enable cross-play and will cost $5 to purchase. Microsoft should follow Sony's lead and include a Gears of War Lancer, or at the very least Master Chief's helmet.

When Among Us first came out in 2018, it was available on mobile and PC, but it didn't gain traction until the COVID-19 lockdowns began in early 2020. It had over 400,000 concurrent players on Steam by August, thanks in part to the simple premise and the ability to produce multiplayer drama that was ideal for Twitch feeds. Even Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was in on it by October.

Innersloth's developers have previously stated that they were unprepared for the game's rapid surge in popularity and that they have been frantically updating it with new content and porting it to new platforms ever since. The game was released on Switch in December of last year, but it has remained a console exclusive on Nintendo's hybrid handheld since then. In just a few months, that will all change.

Meanwhile, Inersloth has hinted at an imminent Fortnite partnership with Epic Games. Over the summer, the free-to-play battle royale published an Imposters mode that was directly copied from Among Us, but it didn't credit the tiny game until just last week. Thankfully, the brands have reconciled.
