Arcane was introduced for the first time in 2019. Riot Games highlighted a variety of projects their teams were working on in addition to their staple title, League of Legends, in their 10-year retrospective. This included VALORANT, their current first-person shooter, as well as a planned fighting game and, most significantly, an animated series.

The series will be hosted by Netflix, which was announced in May. The cast was only unveiled last week, and it included a number of intriguing characters. Vi will be voiced by Hailee Steinfield, who will also appear in the upcoming Marvel series Hawkeye. Arcane's promo included various other well-known League of Legends heroes who could be played. Caitlyn, Jayce, Vi, Jinx, and Heimerdinger could all be seen in the trailer.

Piltover and Zaun, a steampunk tiered metropolis in Runeterra, appear to be the setting for the plot. While the trailer didn't reveal much about the plot, it appears that the plot will centre on Vi and her sister, Jinx. Other characters will very certainly appear for longer periods of time, but we'll have to wait and see.
