Acend Crowned Champions of Mandatory Cup #3

Mandatory Cup #3, an OFF//SEASON Valorant Tournament organized by MandatoryGG and ZQSD, came to a close yesterday, on 19th December. The Grand Final witnessed  Acend and CGN Esports fight against each other for the title and a lion’s share in €15,000 EUR prize pool. However, Acend outplayed CGN Esports to clinch the title. The tournament was played in two stages: Group Stage and Playoffs. The Grand Final was one-sided as Acend continued their unbeaten run in the tournament and clinched the title. Let us have a look at the match recap.  

Mandatory Cup #3: Details

Mandatory Cup #3 commenced on 13th of December with a total of 12 participating teams. Each team was divided into 4 groups with a double elimination bracket format and best-of -2 game series. The top teams from each group made it to the playoffs and it was team Acend, who didn’t lose any of their game. With this great run, they made it to the Grand Finals. Following is the recap of the Grand Finals.

Grand Final Recap - CGN Esports vs Acend (0-3)

Map 1: The first map was Haven, CGN Esports picked Killjoy, Gekko, Sova, Jett, and Omen. On the other hand, Acend picked Jett, Viper, Omen, Killjoy, and Skye. In the first half, Acend managed to build a lead by 5-7. In the second half, Acend dominated with a 6-3 score With this,  Acend clinched the win by 8-13.

Map 2: Split map was the second map. CGN Esports opted for Cypher, Sage, Skye, Raze, and Astra. On the other hand, Acend picked Jett, Omen, Sage, Cypher, and Raze. Acend once again led the first half by 3-9. It was an easy victory for Acend as they scored 1-4 in the second half and won the game by 4-13. 

Map 3: Sunset was the third map where both teams met once again. CGN Esports picked Cypher, Phoenix, Skye, Raze, and Omen. On the other hand, Acend picked Raze, Viper, Omen, Cypher, and Gekko. CGN Esports led the first half by 7-5, but Acend made a comeback in the second half. The score was 3-8 in the second half and Acend won the game by 10-13 scores.
