Ayrin’s Valorant Journey Comes to an End

The 27-year-old Canadian player, known for his exceptional leadership skills, expressed gratitude for the incredible experiences and friendships forged during his time in the esports arena. "Thank you all for the support," AYRIN conveyed in a tweet on 7th December, marking the day he decided to hang up his mouse and keyboard.

AYRIN's decision is not merely a farewell to competitive gaming but a transition towards a new chapter. Reflecting on his future, he disclosed plans to merge his educational background with his professional gaming expertise, envisioning a continued involvement in the dynamic world of esports and the gaming industry.

Valorant played a pivotal role in reigniting AYRIN's passion for gaming, propelling him to pursue the esport actively. His journey, however, faced an unexpected hurdle as he underwent laser eye surgery a few months ago. The recovery process proved to be challenging, marked by numerous complications. In a candid piece of advice to fellow competitors, AYRIN cautioned against refractive surgery for those still actively engaged in professional play, citing the slow but improving nature of his recovery.

AYRIN's departure stirred nostalgia among former teammates, with Ganesh "SkRossi" Gangadhar and Brendan "BcJ" Jensen expressing heartfelt sentiments. SkRossi acknowledged AYRIN as a great teammate, roommate, and friend, while BcJ emphasized their enduring friendship.

Despite the challenges, AYRIN etched his mark in Valorant esports, qualifying for international tournaments such as Masters Copenhagen 2022 and Valorant Champions 2022 with XSET. However, his stint with Global Esports fell short of major international events, culminating in the team finishing eighth in the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2023: Pacific League.

On 12th September 2023, AYRIN bid farewell to Global Esports, allowing his contract with the Indian organization to expire. Contrary to initial plans of seeking opportunities in North America (NA) and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) as an in-game leader (IGL), AYRIN's journey takes a different turn as he embarks on a new adventure beyond the gaming battlegrounds.
