ZETA DIVISION’s Journey to VCT Game Changers Japan
The journey to victory was anything but easy, with ZETA DIVISION GC navigating through a fiercely competitive field. The grand final showdown saw them pitted against formidable opponents, Haruka “Curumi” Tajima and her team, on multiple maps. The matches were intense and closely contested, with ZETA DIVISION GC securing wins on Sunset (13-6) and Ascent (13-11). The battle raged back and forth on Haven (8-13) and Lotus (13-15), but ZETA DIVISION GC remained undeterred, ultimately sealing the championship on Bind (13-7).
Prior to the grand final, ZETA DIVISION GC, along with FENNEL Hotelava and DetonatioN FocusMe GC, had already earned their spots in the prestigious VCT Game Changers East Asia competition. These three elite teams are now set to represent Japan on the international stage, with their eyes firmly fixed on securing a coveted place at the VCT Game Changers Global Championship in São Paulo the following month.
ZETA DIVISION GC's path to victory was paved with confidence and precision. Throughout the tournament, they displayed remarkable consistency, securing clean 2-0 victories against SCARZ GC, Reignite Lily, and DetonatioN FocusMe GC. Their dominance was exemplified by a jaw-dropping 13-0 win against DetonatioN FocusMe GC on the second map.
On the flip side, FENNEL Hotelava faced a more challenging route to the finals. Pushed into the lower bracket by Reignite Lily from the start, doubts loomed over their championship aspirations. This setback was particularly stinging considering their earlier struggles, which had resulted in them missing out on the main event of Split 1. However, their determination shone through as they battled through the lower bracket, triumphing over SCARZ GC, DRX Changers, Reignite Lily, and DetonatioN FocusMe GC to secure their place in the grand final.
