Stalwart Esports, a prominent Indian esports organization, has found itself facing disqualification from the highly anticipated Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2023: The Grind. The team, comprising a talented all-girl roster, showed tremendous promise during the initial matches, but their journey came to an abrupt halt when they were found to be in violation of the rules set forth by Krafton, the tournament organizers.

Stalwart Esports’ Journey in BGIS 2023: The Grind

Seeded in Group 11 for the first round, Stalwart Esports appeared to be a force to be reckoned with, impressing both fans and critics alike. With a commendable performance that earned them a total of 24 points, including 17 successful finishes, they secured a respectable seventh position in the overall standings. The team's progress seemed to signal a bright future in the fiercely competitive world of esports.

However, the fairytale run came to a crashing end on August 1, when Krafton officially announced the disqualification of Stalwart Esports from BGIS 2023: The Grind. The decision was taken in accordance with the strict adherence to rules and regulations set by the organizers, who prioritize responsible gaming and fair play. Stalwart Esports was found to be in violation of two specific rules, namely 2.1.5 and 6.2.4, from the BGIS Rulebook.

Rule 2.1.5, also known as Single Team Exclusivity, ensures that players remain committed to a single team throughout the tournament, while Rule 6.2.4, known as Ringing, prohibits the use of substitute players without proper authorization. Stalwart Esports was found to have breached these regulations, leading to their disqualification.

Stalwart Esports Takes the Responsibility of Their Action

In response to the disqualification, Stalwart Esports released an official statement on their Instagram story, taking full responsibility for their actions. The organization explained that they had transferred their BGMI roster to Team Dynamic esports before the start of The Grind event. However, due to the short notice period, they were unable to rename the slot, resulting in the squad playing under the name of Stalwart Esports. While acknowledging the mistake, they accepted the consequences of their oversight.

Adding further intrigue to the situation, certain players shared a video accusing Stalwart Esports of hacking during the third and final match of Group 11, played on the Sanhok map. The squad's aggressive gameplay and remarkable performance in that match raised suspicions among some of their peers. This accusation, combined with the rule violations, further complicated the circumstances surrounding their disqualification.
