Global Esports Phoenix, an all-female Valorant team, has taken decisive action by removing Abisha "Baila" Joseph from their roster. The talented player's departure comes merely three days after the team secured a spot in the regional finals of the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2023 Game Changers APAC Elite. The reason behind this shocking decision was Baila's involvement in account sharing, a violation of Riot Games' Terms of Service (ToS).

Account sharing has long been frowned upon by Riot Games, the developers of Valorant, and can lead to severe consequences for players. The company explicitly states in its ToS that account sharing is strictly prohibited and can result in temporary or permanent account bans. The rules are especially stringent for professional players, who understand that the security of their main accounts is paramount to safeguarding their careers.

Baila's case is particularly concerning, as she was found guilty of account sharing not once but twice. The first instance occurred in April 2023, a mere month after joining Global Esports Phoenix. At that time, she received a warning, signaling the seriousness of the matter. Unfortunately, she repeated the offense in July 2023, which ultimately led to her dismissal from the team.

The CEO of Global Esports, Rushindra Sinha, personally addressed the situation in a public statement. He emphasized the importance of upholding the integrity of the game and ensuring that all players adhere to the established rules. Sinha's decision to remove Baila was driven by a commitment to fair play and a zero-tolerance approach towards any activities that compromise the competitive spirit of the game.

While Baila has yet to release an official statement on the matter, it was disclosed that she acknowledges her mistake and vows to learn from it. Moving forward, she plans to take extra precautions to avoid any future breaches of Riot's ToS.

Despite the unfortunate turn of events, Global Esports Phoenix remains resolute in its pursuit of excellence. The team has qualified for the VCT 2023 Game Changers APAC Elite, securing the last slot on the regional leaderboard. With the tournament scheduled for October 2023, the organization now has ample time to find a suitable replacement for Baila and prepare diligently for the upcoming competition.
