Cyberpunk 2077 will have enriched content with respect to the brand's first new expansion
that is expected to launch in 2023. Today in a financial call, CD Projekt Red mentioned the
same about its release date. As of now, the company is working on developing the first new
expansion. Other details will be shared as soon as the company shares information later this
year.
After drawing an outline of its upcoming production plan the news of the first expansion was
revealed. The news includes ongoing work on Cyberpunk. After trying to save the game’s
integrity and strengthen its existence, CD Projekt Red 2077 finally found firm ground. The
development of the next Witcher game and the next-gen update for The Witcher 3 is
currently delayed for an indefinite time period. CD Projekt Red shaded light into the sales
aspect after debuting earlier this year. They have sold nearly more than 18 million copies
after launching in 2020. In comparison with FromSoftware’s Elden Ring, it managed to cross
12 million in sales just a few weeks after debuting earlier this year. At the same time, the
Witcher 3 has made solid sales of more than 40 million copies since 2015.
In addition to the work on its big franchises, CD Projekt Red says it’s also in the midst of
“conceptual and research work on unannounced projects.” Furthermore, CD Projekt Red will
continue working on the new Witcher game based on Unreal Engine 5 and provide support
for its existing titles. After tons of critiques, CD Projekt Red can finally take a breather and
continue its work without major bother and backlash from the bitter communities that have
soaked their frustration from the failure with Cyberpunk 2077.
