The NFT network of Axie Infinity got hacked, resulting in the loss of 625 million dollars stolen by the hackers. It is the biggest crypto heist ever recorded. The Ronin Network, which powers Sky Mavis, the developers and publishers of the famous NFT game, Axie Infinity, has fallen prey to this massive digital robbery. The declaration by the Ronin Network in a blog states that the Ronin bridge has been actively pimped for 173,600 Ethereum and 25.5M USDC. The Katana Dex and the bridge have been halted as a safety measure.

As far as the robbery is concerned, the Ronin Network said they are working hard with law enforcement, cryptographers, and their investors to ensure that all the stolen funds are recovered or refunded. 

To elaborate on the incident, the Ronin Network revealed that the validator nodes on the Ronin validator for the Sky Mavis and the Axie DAO nodes were jeopardised on March 23, which came to their notice on March 29. The theft took place in the form of two transactions. Firstly, the hackers used private keys to showcase fake withdrawals. Following this, the Ronin Network added that they came to know about the alarming theft after one of the users reported not being able to withdraw 5k ETH from the bridge. Ronin Network continues by saying that the hackers have gained access to the four validators of Ronin and the other one validator from the third-party powered by Axie DAO, as five out of nine validators' signatures are required to gain access to deposits and withdrawals.

Ronin Networks have provided further insights into the massive digital theft. They said that the hackers swiftly conducted the incident after the hackers could break through Sky Mavis's systems which helped them get the signatures from the Axie DAO validator using the gas-free RPC. 

As per the comments by Ronin Network, they are trying their best and securing the deposits and withdrawals with eight validations. They are seeking justified punishment for the offenders with the help of government agencies and are trying to compensate the users who have faced the loss of the funds. The deposits and withdrawals are also currently kept inaccessible for the users.  

Thus, Axie Infinity, though faced with the challenges of theft, is sure to bounce back in no time.
