It seems that another new expansion is coming for the sci-fi strategy title, Stellaris. This time around, this expansion is called Overlord. And, with this new expansion, there will be an entire overhaul in terms of the relationships between the ruling powers, and the subject states under those. What this expansion essentially does is that it makes consolidating other states that are not under your direct control, but are still a part of your rule, more interesting. Furthermore, there will also be new ways to control your empire. You can either be a kind ruler, or an oppressive one. The new, upcoming Overlord expansion will also add new megastructures, enclaves, and music to the game.
And, that is not all, the 3.4 Cepheus update will also be arriving with this new expansion. This would be a free update and would be available to all the players. As for what this update is going to be about, we do not have much information on it as of now. However, from what we have heard so far, it will bring new content and adjustments for all the players.
The last expansion that we got for Stellaris was back in 2021 April, with the Nemesis expansion. Nemesis brought a host of changes and new content. Since then, there has been no news for an upcoming expansion, well, that was till now. Now, the upcoming expansion for Stellaris, Overlord has been officially announced and is set to release on PC sometime this year.
As of now, it has not been officially announced if this expansion will be available on other platforms apart from PC. So, we cannot comment on that. But, what we do know for sure, is that it is indeed coming to PC, and that is happening sometime this year itself.
So, if you are an avid Stellaris lover, then your time to resume playing Stellaris again seems to be coming soon. Well, we do not know how soon as the release date is not yet announced. But, let us see. We expect to learn more in the coming months.
