Game Science, the creator of Black Myth: Wukong, has finally stated that the PlayStation 5 version of the game would soon be available in physical form. Many Black Myth: Wukong gamers on the PS5 expressed a desire for a physical copy of the game after it was released in August exclusively digitally, and it appears that their requests may soon be granted.

Black Myth: Wukong has achieved stratospheric heights of success for Game Science in less than two months since its release. The game has received a great deal of appreciation from players, and according to recent sources, Black Myth: Wukong has made over $1 billion in revenue on Steam alone. In light of Black Myth: Wukong's purported $43 million budget, Game Science's return on investment is outstanding. The fact that Black Myth: Wukong is exclusive to the PlayStation 5 and PC makes its sales even more remarkable.

Although an ESRB rating for the Xbox version of Black Myth: Wukong appeared lately, Game Science has not yet formally confirmed it. However, the studio has released positive news regarding Black Myth: Wukong's physical release for PS5 owners. Game Science's official Twitter account just said that Black Myth: Wukong's "master disc" is ready and that PS5 owners will be able to purchase the physical copy of the game "very soon." Regarding Black Myth: Wukong's physical release, no additional information was given, although one trustworthy insider spoke up.

Reputable industry insider billbil_kun cited a tweet from Game Science containing the purported release and cost details for the disk edition of Black Myth: Wukong. They state that the PS5 physical version of Black Myth: Wukong will retail for $64.99 on 21st October in the United States. Europe didn't receive a specific release date, although billbil_kun stated that it should occur "very soon" for a price of €69.99. Considering that Black Myth: Wukong has sold more than 20 million copies digitally, it will be interesting to watch how the physical version does.

It's also unclear if Game Science will provide a physical copy of the Xbox version of Black Myth: Wukong when it eventually releases. According to the most recent ESRB rating, Black Myth: Wukong's Xbox port might be released before the end of 2024—possibly as a surprise during the 2024 Game Awards event. However, the Xbox version might also be released in early 2025, since Game Science is rumored to be planning the release of Black Myth: Wukong DLC.
