According to a Call of Duty source, Activision nearly worked with Halo earlier this year before the partnership was shelved. Over the course of several games, Call of Duty has seen various partnerships, but one almost brought the Halo universe to the Activision shooter.

Both the Call of Duty and Halo game franchises have experienced significant growth and success in the seventh console generation. The first crossover cosmetics, such as Skin Crawler from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Billy the Puppet Operator Skins from Saw, were available in Modern Warfare (2019). In contrast to Call of Duty, character customization in Halo mostly centers on Spartan armor, and the game hasn't delved into cosmetic possibilities from other intellectual properties.

Charlie Intel, a Call of Duty outlet, tweeted lately about how Halo and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 might work together this year. The leaker claims that no one knows why the collaboration was canceled. Earlier this year, there were rumors of a Halo and Call of Duty partnership, but those never materialized. Charlie Intel's post may have lent credence to these rumors. Since Microsoft acquired Activision, the company that publishes Call of Duty, there may yet be a chance for both franchises to intersect. The fact that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is scheduled for release later this month suggests that the concept was aggressively applied to the game rather than Modern Warfare 3.

Halo And Modern Warfare 3 Nearly Worked Together

There is still a chance that Master Chief will feature in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 since Activision appears to be planning to sell cosmetics after the game releases. A Halo partnership has a ton of promise that goes far beyond just giving Call of Duty additional cosmetics like an Operator Skin, Weapon Charm, or Weapon Blueprint. Call of Duty might get new weaponry, a Halo-themed game mode, and other features if this crossover took place. On the other hand, Call of Duty weapons and game types might find their way into Halo Infinite, a game that hasn't collaborated as much as Modern Warfare 3. Little Caesars and Monster Energy have already been confirmed as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 collaborators.

Many crossover cosmetics were included in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, some of which were carried over from the previous game. Even while it appears that the idea of a Call of Duty and Halo partnership has been shelved for the time being, both franchises will undoubtedly continue to expand.
