Limited Run Games and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced a partnership for seven brand-new physical Yakuza series products. The first products of this partnership are brand-new collector's editions for Kiwami and Yakuza 0, which are currently up for pre-order. It has also been announced by Limited Run titles that new physical versions of the previous mainline Yakuza titles will occur, with an exclusive gift for those who choose to pre-order.

Over the last five years, the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series from Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has been immensely successful. Although the series was well-liked in Japan, Yakuza 0's 2017 release was so successful that it attracted a whole new fanbase from the West. Many of the mainline games have now been released in the West, starting with Yakuza 0. Yakuza Kiwami is coming to the Nintendo Switch as well, eight years after it was first launched on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Many of the mainline games are only physically accessible on the PlayStation 4, even though Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has been releasing boxed copies of its games for all platforms since Yakuza: Like a Dragon. 

On its official website and social media accounts, Limited Run Games announced this news. Yakuza 0 and Kiwami, two of the series' best beginning points, will be the first two premium physical editions available. A Standard and Classic Edition for each game, as well as a pre-order period spanning from 11th October to 10th November, 2024, have been disclosed by Limited Run. For about $35 USD, the Standard Edition includes a boxed copy of the game, but the Classic Edition has many more added bells and whistles.

Keychains, acrylic standee cards, and a soundtrack CD set are included with Yakuza 0's Classic Edition. Regardless of the version chosen, every Xbox and PS4 pre-order for Yakuza 0 includes a unique 7-game slipcase. Fans can now house every Yakuza game from the Kiryu Saga in one enormous tome case thanks to this slipcase. At $75 USD, the Classic Edition is a little more costly. When the new physical copies of Yakuza Kiwami 2, Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered, Yakuza 5 Remastered, and Yakuza 6 will go on sale is presently unknown.

Limited Run Games also provided details on the Standard and Classic Editions of Yakuza Kiwami, which include a Switch option. At first, Yakuza Kiwami's Switch port was only going to be available digitally, with a cheaper retail price on the eShop. On the other hand, based on previous releases, a lot of fans surmised that Limited Run would work with Sega to create a physical version of the Switch port. The pricing and pre-order period for Yakuza Kiwami's Standard and Classic editions are identical to those of the Yakuza 0 releases.
