Dracthyr Priests will have unique wing visual effects when they use Dark Ascension, Apotheosis, and Ultimate Penitence when they become available in World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft Patch 11.0.5 will include the addition of these special particle effects as part of the Dracthyr class update.

The new race Dracthyr, which debuted in Dragonflight, was initially limited to selecting the draconic Evoker class. The expansion of Dracthyr's class options to include Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Mage, Warrior, and Warlock was just confirmed by World of Warcraft Patch 11.0.5. These classes are currently playable on the Public Test Realm.

But as players experimented with these new class combinations, they discovered a fascinating aspect about Dracthyr Priests. Dracthyr enjoy an amazing visual effect when they employ Dark Ascension, Apotheosis, or Ultimate Penitence in their draconic forms. This causes the membrane between their wings to scintillate with light or dark energy. Even when they use Skyriding to soar into the air on their wings, this sight remains for the duration of the ability's effect. If you want to witness these visual effects in action, Wowhead has posted footage of them.

In WoW: The War Within, Specific Effects Of The Dracthyr Priest

Each of these skills in World of Warcraft summons a pair of wings to the back of other Priests. It would not have been possible for Dracthyr to do so in their draconic form because the spell effects would have clipped into their own wings. The outcome is a genuinely original spell effect that may encourage certain players to roll a Dracthyr Priest when they might not have otherwise.

There is currently no release date for the World of Warcraft patch that includes this Dracthyr class change. Nevertheless, according to the PTR calendar, the World of Warcraft 20th anniversary event starts on October 23. Since the event is one of the update's main components, Patch 11.0.5 itself might debut on October 22, which would be eight weeks after The War Within officially launches and coincide with Dragonflight's rapid release schedule for World of Warcraft.

World of Warcraft's 20th anniversary celebration is set to be the largest in-game event to date. A new raid version of Blackrock Depths, many world monsters, a Classic Timewalking event, and a plethora of trinkets that players can obtain through various in-game tasks are all included to this big event. Players that are looking to level their new Dracthyr Priests will have the ideal opportunity to do so, as fans can partake in some of these activities by level 10 and all of them by level 15.
