Fortnite V-Bucks are set to become more expensive in October 2024. The newly announced change will affect Fortnite players in half a dozen countries across three continents.

The price of the virtual currency used in Epic's hit battle royale shooter has been relatively stable since the game's early days. And while some fluctuations did happen over the years, they were usually limited to specific platforms, countries, or both. In one of the most recent examples of this trend, Fortnite's V-Bucks increased in price on PC and consoles in October 2023.

A 20% V-Bucks Price Increase for Six Countries Is Announced By Fortnite

Six nations on three continents have now been informed of another price increase. Epic said that Fortnite's V-Bucks will soon cost more in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Nigeria, Vietnam, and the Philippines in a blog post dated 10th September. The corporation justified its recently announced decision by pointing to shifts in macroeconomic fundamentals, such as general currency volatility and inflation. On 14th October, a regional pricing increase for Fortnite's V-Bucks is set to take place. Depending on the nation, the adjustments add up to about a 20% rise.

The Cost Of Fortnite Content Packs Is Also Rising

Epic intends to increase the cost of Fortnite content packs by a comparable margin as part of the same action. This will only apply to the six countries indicated above, and the developer has noted that as a result of these changes, all upcoming content packs will likewise cost more than their previous ones did. The impending series of pricing increases won't impact the Fortnite Crew subscription.

Further There Will Be Price Increases for Fortnite "Worldwide"

The developer should be able to apply these recently announced modifications from the server side, so if Epic's previous price adjustments are any guide, there won't need to be any game offline maintenance. There has been no announcement on the precise moment of the new rates' October 14 implementation. However, Epic did announce that there will likely be further price increases for Fortnite in the near future. A corporate spokesman wrote, "We plan to make pricing adjustments around the world on a more regular basis," explaining that these adjustments were also intended to address different macroeconomic trends that were occurring globally.

It is still unknown how many nations these extra price adjustments will affect or when they might become available. In 2023, there was an increase in Fortnite V-Bucks prices in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Norway, Turkey, Japan, and the whole European Union.
