Sony has discreetly raised the cost of all of its PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers by $5. Although the price hike for PlayStation 5 players was not formally announced by the corporation, it is already available at stores worldwide.

The DualSense controller, with its haptic feedback capabilities, gyro aiming, and adaptive trigger features, is widely regarded as one of the greatest controllers available today. With the DualSense firmware updater software, PlayStation extended the controller's capabilities to PCs in 2022, enabling PC players to connect their PS5 controllers and use the controller's functionalities in compatible games. In 2023, PlayStation introduced the DualSense Edge, a new premium version of the DualSense that addresses players' desire for more accurate and mappable controls in a range of games. PlayStation has been releasing new DualSense controllers in the market in recent months. The Concord and Astro Bot DualSense controllers, which are limited edition and were introduced on 23rd August and 6th September , respectively, are two examples.

The regular colour models in White, Starlight Blue, Galactic Purple, Cosmic Red, Midnight Black, and Gray Camouflage now cost $74.99 apiece instead of $69.99, as reported by IGN. Sony increased the price of all PS5 DualSense controllers by $5. In addition, the cost of the more costly DualSense controllers in Volcanic Red, Sterling Silver, and Cobalt Blue increased by $5, making them $79.99 instead of $74.99. PlayStation enthusiasts may check for themselves the price hike in the company's Direct shop, and dealers have already adjusted the DualSense controller listings on their own websites to match the new cost. So far, there has been no change in the cost of PS5 consoles, console covers, the DualSense Edge controller, or any accessories.

It looks like the price hike is spreading to all countries, including Australia and the UK. The cost of DualSense controllers increased by £5 in the UK, or around $6.54. In Australia, the cost of DualSense controllers was raised by 10 Australian dollars, or around $6.66. Thankfully, DualSense controllers are frequently discounted, so gamers who would like to expand their collection can wait until the holidays to save some cash.

The announcement by Sony that its nine-minute PS5 technical presentation will take place on 10th September coincides with the price rise for DualSense. Mark Cerny, head architect for the PS5, will be hosting the presentation, which will center on the gaming system and "innovation in gaming technology." If the rumors and conjecture about the PS5 Pro's September debut are accurate, an announcement about it might not be too far off. But it's uncertain if Sony would discuss the DualSense's higher price in public this week as well.
