One of the game's new bosses, the Fell Council, was first shown in Diablo 2 and has since been seen in additional video for Diablo 4. As Diablo 4's fifth season gets underway, the council will join the game to answer player desires for more Diablo 2 flavour in the most recent instalment of the series.

Diablo 4 gamers may recognize several characters from Diablo Immortal, such as Ashava the Pestilent, a gigantic demon with enormous blades on its arms. This isn't the only instance of characters from prior Diablo games making a comeback. Lyndon the Scoundrel, a Diablo 4 NPC who debuted in Diablo 3 and the Reaper of Souls expansion, is another figure who will be recognizable to fans. It would be difficult to overlook Butcher, a demon that appeared in Diablo, Diablo 3, and Diablo Immortal and plagued players of Diablo 4 nightmares. Season 5 of Diablo 4 will see the return of characters that seasoned players will recognize from Blizzard.

Diablo 4 released a video of the Fell Council on 1st  August, during the Campfire Chat broadcast. The bosses of Diablo 4's new mode, Infernal Hordes, are the characters formed by Geleb the Flame, Bremm the Maelstrom, Wyand the Shadow, Maffer the Cruel, and Ismael the Accursed. The Fell Council will send three arbitrary members charging into battle if players defeat the enemy waves. Ten distinct configurations for this encounter exist in Diablo 4, and the developers hope that these variations will "create many different flavours of the boss fight."

Since Diablo 4's new foes were among the dangers encountered in Diablo 2, the Fell Council is nothing new to seasoned gamers. The council members in the franchise's second game were formerly kind men who oversaw Zakarum. They lost the battle to stop Mephisto, and as a result, they were all corrupted and turned into strong evil agents. Players of Diablo 2 were eventually forced to send the group straight to hell.
