By inventing the Dread, The Witness's most devoted slaves, in the life-simulation game Spore, a Destiny 2 fan has given an entire new galaxy cause for fear. Using Spore's built-in creature creator feature, the fan skillfully mimicked the forms of the Destiny 2 enemies within the game's whimsical style.

When Spore was initially published for the PC in 2008, it appeared to be the next development for the venerable game developer Maxis. The developer gained recognition for creating intricate simulation-based games that attempted to mimic particular facets of real life, such as human existence and urban planning, such as SimCity and The Sims. In the game Spore, players were tasked with leading a cartoonish species of lifeform through several evolutionary phases, from tiny organisms to spacefaring society, starting with its birth in a primordial soup. Even though the game's legacy was eventually mixed, a lot of players still have positive memories of it because of its expansive nature and the creature creator's ability to allow for a great deal of user expression.

Moisted-Akka, a Destiny 2 enthusiast, expressed this by utilising the in-game creature builder to transplant the whole Dread faction from Destiny 2 into Spore's galaxy. Moisted-Akka employed the monster creator's capacity to combine and distort various components and forms in different ways to imitate the appearance of numerous Dread troops, including some special ones such as raid bosses.

Dread Faction in Destiny 2 Emerges Owing to Fan Work

Moisted-Akka showcased their recreations of the regular Dread from The Final Shape in a post on the Destiny 2 subreddit. These included the flying Dread Grim, the terrible Tormenter, the Dread Husk, the Stasis-casting Dread Omen, the Strand-using Dread Weaver, and the fearsome Harbinger. Moisted-Akka even imitated special Dread troops, such as Nezarec, the boss of the Lightfall Root of Nightmares raid, Rhulk, the boss of bosses themselves, and The Witness, the boss of the Witch Queen's Vow of the Disciple raid. The villain's various guises were also included in Moisted-Akka's adaptation of The Witness, ranging from a "resting" stance with hands clasped to the multiarmed threat encountered in the Salvation's Edge denouement.

Supporters applauded Moisted-Akka's efforts, praising them especially for selecting Spore as their favourite media. Reminiscent memories were stirred in several fans upon seeing the game again almost fifteen years after its original release. Players observed that Spore's emphasis on transforming a player's society into a spacefaring civilization at some point bore a poetic resonance with the Dread's story, which was one of several civilizations that The Witness twisted and altered in its quest to bring the universe to its "final shape." With its legions and adherents, The Witness is now prepared to terrify a whole new galaxy.
