An amusing, unaddressed part of the new raid in Destiny 2 was pointed out by a gamer, making their fellow community members laugh. The new raid, named Salvation's Edge, made its debut in Destiny 2's most recent addition, The Final Shape.

The player base of Destiny, which appeared disheartened following criticism of Destiny 2 Lightfall, the 2023 addition, has been revitalized with Destiny 2: The Final Shape. Bungie made a mistake with Lightfall, delivering its tale over the course of the year and the game's seasons instead of offering a stand-alone, satisfying experience. But after a protracted delay in The Final Shape's development, which resulted in the game's final season being extended and a free extension in the form of the Into the Light update, Bungie finally made the right decision and concluded Destiny's lengthy Saga of Light and Darkness with a raid against The Witness, the source of all the universe's problems.

User ActuallyJustADude offered the following insight during the Salvation's Edge raid, which allowed them to ultimately beat The Witness: Why would The Witness plant weapons and armor in their own lair that were specifically designed for the game's fiercest, most tenacious enemies? To the enjoyment of the Reddit community for the game, they asked them this question.

ActuallyJustADude questioned The Witness' rationale in their message, questioning why it had scattered a ton of extremely potent loot all throughout its own fortress, just waiting for Guardians to don and wield it. The Witness itself doesn't require the equipment because, as it did in the final boss battle of Salvation's Edge, it used its arsenal of abilities to decimate its enemies. Why then do the Guardians have such powerful upgrades?

Some players, of course, noted that this is just Destiny 2's nature. After all, after being vanquished in battle, even animals with distinctly non-human shapes and/or dimensions may frequently drop human-scaled weapons and armor. Similarly, Bungie seeded secret chests with some of the best loot in the game at the Salvation's Edge raid. Put another way, it makes sense that it would be present since Destiny 2 is a video game with a reward system centered around loot and equip upgrades.

Certain players offered more "lore-friendly" responses that could make sense in the context of Destiny 2's plot. They made the point that, in Salvation's Edge, The Witness deliberately courted the Guardians' influence prior to deciding on going to war. In earlier narratives, The Witness attempted to entice Guardians with weapons and armor suited for a raid boss and offered them a role as Disciples at their side.
