The first significant update for early access to The Rogue Prince of Persia has been released. A lot of players were eager to see what Motion Twin will do following the release of Dead Cells, which ultimately made some creators want to abandon the project and others want to stick around to keep the game supported. Due to this division, Evil Empire was formed. This group completed the development of Dead Cells and is currently working on The Rogue Prince of Persia.

After the surprise early access release of Hades 2, which caught the interest of many players—including the production team for The Rogue Prince of Persia—the game was postponed. It seems that the additional time gave Evil Empire the opportunity to refine the game to the greatest extent feasible before putting it up for community review after its first release. The game has now received its first significant update.

The new Temple of Fire update for The Rogue Prince of Persia was shown in a reveal trailer. Players will be able to utilize all-new enemies and weaponry in the Temple of Fire, a new biome. The Flaming Censers are a new weapon in this version, while the Shielded Warrior and Duelist are new foes. Developer Matt Houghton of Evil Empire says that the clip was shot days before to the early access release of The Rogue Prince of Persia, indicating that this update was prearranged. The full release of the game is scheduled for 2025.

Fans of The Rogue Prince of Persia seem to have much more in store for Evil Empire. Given how long it will be until the game's intended release and how soon the current update was released, a lot of new biomes, enemies, and mobs might be added before the game's official release. A gameplay feature that may remind players of Dead Cells was also added to the Temple of Fire update: the Meta Progression Skill Tree. This allows players to spend Spirit Glimmers on long-lasting upgrades.

There have been other updates released for the Prince of Persia franchise. Along with the update for The Rogue Prince of Persia and a new teaser trailer for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, there was also an update for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown unveiled as part of the 10th June Ubisoft Forward event. The Prince of Persia franchise seems to be Ubisoft's top priority, and if these releases are successful enough, fans may get a lot more.
